May is the month that the England springs into bloom
How was Easter?

Henley in Arden Parish Church – celebrating life in the heart of Henley. From the Rectory - Dear Friends, I missed it! Due to illness I missed all the Easter Services. The most talked about, thought about, written about, argued over and believed event in all history was celebrated, and I missed it. Thank goodness the Easter season goes on for seven weeks. Plenty of time to catch up. And then there are other important festivals which are unmissable. On Thursday 30th May we will be celebrating the next festival – Ascension Day. According to the Bible, forty days after the Resurrection Jesus ascended to heaven in a dramatic fashion. Extraordinary and significant. He entered heaven. Will we? So many of us speak so assuredly about going to heaven when we die. Where does this idea come from? The festivals take us step by step through what we need to know. Don’t miss them! We will be marking Ascension Day on Thursday 30th May with hymns and prayers 7 am on the Mount, and then 7 pm in St. Nicholas’. Another date for your diary is 10 am on Sunday 19th May. The annual Civic Service is an opportunity for us to get together as a community, to give thanks to God for one another and to pray for God’s blessing on our town. Please come along if you can. Finally, I have been very busy mapping our churchyard and locating graves going back a hundred years. Soon we will need to make serious decisions about the churchyard, its capacity and maintenance. I need your help in locating 30 graves. Check the list below; you will see names and the year they were buried. Thanks for your help. John Ganjavi Can you help me locate the graves of the following people? Any information would be helpful.
